I can appreciate some of what he's saying. 3DS is truly on fire and offers a fantastic growing library of quality first-party "Nintendo Experience" titles. That being said, I have to STRONGLY disagree with his sentiment that the 3DS is "near the same graphical fidelity as the Wii U." That's just silly. Right now, Wii U doesn't have a lot of games that show off what it's capable of. Sure there are some great third-party games with high-end graphics available, but there's just something DIFFERENT about how Nintendo's own first-party titles look when they're really trying to make them look good. The Wii was grossly underpowered and yet Super Mario Galaxy is still one of the best looking games of the past generation. When E3 rolls around and Nintendo shows off the next evolution (probably called Super Mario U-niverse) of Mario AND Mario Kart AND Smash Bros. AND shows off the Wind Waker in motion, plus whatever Retro Studios is working on, THEN we'll start to see what Wii U is REALLY capable of. Also, as fantastic as many of the 3DS games are, Nintendo follows a stringent policy of developing handheld games for "shorter periods of play" and that's clearly reflected in the game design of their handheld titles. For console games on the other hand, they're really able to go all out when it comes to game depth. I LOVE my 3DS to death, but you'll NEVER get a game on the same scale as "X" from Monolith Soft on it. Wii U will find its own place in the market and as ALWAYS, Nintendo's first-party content will sell the systems. I think we all need to wait until E3 and find out about Wii U's holiday line-up before we say it's doomed. There's too much sensationalism in today's gaming journalism.
