To me its two different markets.

I don't think they provide the same experience in most cases. However, the new Zelda title has really changed my thoughts on a portable console.

but is it really two different markets? you have the 2d mario's, the zelda's, the mario karts and the 3d mario's as the main system sellers. the fans of these games will at look at these two consoles and chose on for their gaming needs. since the 3ds has the same games, is cheaper and has much more games, its only natural for anybody who wants a new nintendo console to pick one up over the WiiU

While *some* of the games are similar, they are not identical. NSMB NSMBWii NSMB2 and NSMBU are not the same game. Portables have or are selling better solely due to the number of available customers in the userbase.

3DS does not have "same" games and both have games unique to its respective experience.

i honestly didnt mean they were identical and i didnt meant to bash the games. i meant that they are very much alike and have the same fanbase. my post wasnt an attack but it was to show that the tittles that are coming out are very much alike. even if the content is different its still a new super mario bros. one on the 3ds and one on the WiiU. the marketing team did send that message twice, that you got this new awesome mario game on this awesome console, so people went out, bought the 3ds and bought mario. then the WiiU came out, and the marketing team said the same thing, new awesome mario game on this awesome console. but the second time people will just say "well i just got my super mario bro's on my 3ds" and there is the problem
