heres is my HTTPC specs laid out at the top of this forum post. You can get powerfull custom built under TV PCs which are very portable due to sizes. It will be much cheaper than a laptop probably have a better GPU & CPU, you have the option to upgrade and theres nothing worse than having youropen laptop in front of your TV and playing games of it, the laptop screen is completely redundant.
You can get custom built mini-PCs or you can buy samll cases that lay flat, look good and can be just abit bigger than the size of an early PS3.
Ive had mine years now, its perfect for under TV gaming or taking it round a friends house. And add to that a couple of X360 pads a small bluetooth mouse which i use on the couch and a mini-keyboard im all set.
Here is a site (uk based) that makes custom built under TV gaming PCs, im sure the USA will have something similar.
