I dunno - I think Animal Crossing DS sold 5M, Mario Kart DS sold 3M in Japan. Luigi's Mansion wasn't around the previous gen so it's hard to compare. So, yeah, overall, the casuals aren't biting as much.

Mario Kart is indeed not having the same cumulative sales but not that huge gap, and it's doing better if we use global instead of Japan.

Then again we can't really expect 3DS to behave like the DS, the latter was just a monster.
