Not buy Microsoft, just make it "worth their while" not to release another console. After all, Microsoft and Sony each have only one 1st party IP that is capable of reaching 10m units sold (Halo and Gran Turismo, respectively).
Throwing money at 3rd parties for support like Rol suggested will only result in games on all platforms. Nintendo would be better served spending that money to persuade the competition that it's not worth their time investing in a new console - particularly with the new GoWs from both companies underperforming. Nintendo will effectively become the home for all 3rd party games with zero competition to boot; except EA since they would rather just release their games on PC and sell a small fraction of what they're use to rather than support Nintendo.
