Because gaijin don't understand a superior Japanese product.
They rather spend money on some new smartphone that only makes phone calls, sends text messages, browses the internet, has GPS, plays games, plays videos and music, and has access to thousands of various apps. Who needs features like high definition, high density OLED screens, modern components, and 3G/4G connections when you can get a sub-VGA screen and components that are several years old in a trendy plastic brick?
