Power was never the reason for the success of a console or having ports or not (ok, Wii might be the exception in some cases).
Devs will put their games on a console if they think - and see - that their type of games will sell there. So, the more importante aspect of a console`s success it`s the userbase.
If people on Wii U buy 3rd party games than they will keep coming. Doesn`t matter if a few fail inbetween. A lot of 3rd party games failed to make a dent on PS3 or Xbox 360 and that didn`t keep games from going to those consoles.
Actually, a funny thing could happen this year or the next.
If it`s true that a lot of Wii owners (Nintendo fans) bought a PS3 or Xbox 360, it is also true that many were exposed to games that they wouldn`t try otherwise or ever tried before because both N64 and GC did get a good number of 3rd party games, even if not the best of the best.
What i mean is, seeing as so many Nintendo fans are exposed to PS3 and Xbox 360 genres and games, if Wii U can provide those experiences, coupled with great Nintendo 1st party games, Wii U might end it`s life with enough of a userbase to bring back the core gamers once again for next generation.
