Win2k was great. It didn't have quite the level of compatibility as XP, but it was so good I used it for the longest time before moving to XP. Win2k used the WinNT kernel which is what MS used to create XP (unlike Win98/WinME which were based on DOS.)

You also skipped WinME, which was terrible.
