Microsoft May Delay Windows 9 For Windows 8.2

When Win8 was released? And how many years later M$ usually releases the next version of the OS?? In other words how many years it took to release Win7 after Vista, or Win8 after 7?

EDIT:

Win Vista: 2006

Win 7: 2009

Win8: 2012

So I guess it is fine for them to release Win9 in 2015.
