Bioshock Infinite gives me hope for single player games and the FPS genre

In these days where the FPS genre is drowning in multiplayer-driven, grey-and-brown, aiming-down-the-sights-of-467-barely-distinct-ACOG-scoped-machine-guns, military-chatter filled mush, it fills me with joy to see an FPS with no multiplayer, a vibrant and captivating world, interesting weapons/powers, and above all, a sense of wonder.

While I doubt it will usher in a bright new era of such games, it at least reassures me that the genre isn't a lost cause, and that an FPS can still be successful on the strength of a marvellous single player adventure alone.
