You are calling Nathan Drake shallow when Kratos's entire story could be told in two sentences.

Kratos was broken down to nothing. His death was imminent. As a last ditch attempt to save his army he pleaded to Ares in exchange for his servitude. He carried out his tasks diligently until he was tricked into slaughtering his own wife and child. Since then he has been tormented by his actions and constantly struggles to carry on...
Kratos has a much deeper character than Drake even if he isn't as enjoyable or charming.

I know how it began. Still did not make the story any more enjoyable. The gameplay is fun as hell but Kratos is a one dimensional character that is driven by anger from beginning to end. He isn't a complex character with many emotions. Just anger. They never portrayed any other side of him in 1-3. Haven't played ascension so i wont comment on that. His character design to his voice was all with reason to portray anger. The only other personality that they gave him was lust. Moral of the entire story is dont make him angry.
What Im saying is saying that another character is shallow is ironic when you are talking about kratos that's story is entirely driven by guilt and anger with no remorse.

Well it depends. Kratos doesn't have much of an arc but he is still very much a fleshed out character.
