I wish Japanese developers would simply go back to utilizing art designs and styles in their games that appealed to all audiences worldwide, not just a niche audience who like emo-looking effeminate characters in their games. That alone would solve many of their problems... not every Japanese game needs to look like it was based on an Anime or Manga property. Add to that the ridiculous dialogue and overly melo-dramatic story and character elements that usually accompany said Japanese games, and it's no wonder why alot of people don't "get" Japanese games.
And as for the companies themselves... when a certain major Japanese developer / publisher blames the three best games they've released in the past year (all Western developed) for failing to meet their financial goals, despite the sales success of all three games (especially Tomb Raider, a reboot of a long-dead franchise), people again start to question the rationale and business strategies behind Japanese gaming companies.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
