My friend is close to convincing me to buy a 3DS but... I need help/info on Nintendo's account system.

I suggest you wouldn't!

Only complaint is that it takes about a hour or so. Mainly depends on how many games you bought (transfer/redownload). I have over 50 VC games and about 10 WiiWare games. If anyone has a right to bitch it would be me. Took some time but at least I could transfer (unlike PS3-PS4 until they work out what they are going to do).
