Story-wise, where does Metroid go from here?

Theoretically we still have to see Metroid Prime 4, but after that, I'm thinking of a reboot.

Exactly how it should reboot is another matter entirely... I'd like a story with lots of depth and consistency, but I get the feeling most Nintendo fans are averse to that.
