The thing about Facebook and Twitter is there are supposed to fill in the "gaps" of your life to people. They both promise ways for you to automate keeping in contacts with friends and whatnot. They sell this idea that you can end up having lots of friends, network and so on, and let all your friends know about your intimate details, all with one post. You can end up quickly telling people "Happy Birthday" and do all this. It is supposed to be a wonderful to save time. What I end up seeing is minutia details personally I really don't care about. Sure, let me know you are out of town, or going in for surgery or whatever, and keep me posted. But I know one case where someone I went to high school with ends up posting on how he is going to deliver papers now and this and that. I mean, "really"? I understand putting pictures of friends and so on there, and sharing events that way, but to end up tweeting about it? Really?
I do see the human relationship is out the window. I don't post stuff there. Now, I take the like of LinkedIn, which is cool though, where you post about career moves and whatnot. At least that is of some value. But that has a professional focus.
