He wasn't fired, he stepped down. I doubt MS isn't giving him some sort of padding despite what people think.

I basically said he stepped down, but we all know better than that. Microsoft most likely jumped down his throat, gave him severence and a job recommendation with future warning and officially say "I'm stepping down" to sut the fans up. I am not blind to how American business works.
