Don't listen to the fools suggesting weed and/or Alcohol. Marijuana can actually trigger anxiety and although alcohol may be okay in moderation, too much and you'll be worse off the day after than the actual symptoms you were trying to stem.
Step back from the thoughts. Try to say So what instead of what if. Look at the basics. Diet, Sleep/wake routine and excercise. Eating breakfast , lunch and dinner at regular time patterns will also help you sleep . Try to stay away from snacking to much. Go for a jog, or take up a sport. Excersise releases endorphines which is the body's natural 'feel good' substance. Many studies support that people who are actively engaged in regular excercise are less pron to anxiety and/or depression..
