Or maybe you're just elitest?

It's elitist to have high standards?

No, it's not. But there are Indies that reach that standars, and they're not too uncommon as you make 'em to be.

Are you trying to tell me what games do and do not meet my standards?

I've readed your first post. I've extracted an idea about your standars upon it.

Games that reach my standards are games like Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, Mass Effect 2, Bioshock, Bayonetta, Zelda Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword, Uncharted 2, Metroid Prime 3, Donkey Kong Country Returns, etc.

World of Goo is an Indie game on that level, but it's the only one I have encountered so far, and I've tried most of the really hyped ones.

You're comparing indie games to some of the best made games of the generation? Yeah, that is elitest.

But you're wrong about the definition....that elitism is having high standards.
Elitism is about dropping a steaming load on anything that doesn't match your tastes.

You're looking at 20m$ budget games, comparing them to 300k$ games, whose price tags are a sixth less, and calling them trash.

Journey is an indie game, and sells more than big budget games, and has won more awards than some of the games you've listed.
Just because people have a different taste than you, doesn't mean the games they enjoy are trash. You just like blockbusters.

Counterstrike is one of the most played games of all time. It was a mod made by a user.

There are lots of games that are great for what they are. Frog Fractions, Octodad, Recettear, Atom Zombie Smasher, The Last Guy, Machinarium, Mount & Blade, Fl0w.
