Will the stacked PS3 / 360 4th quarter hurt Next Gen console sales?

If the average consumer walks up to the PS4 / 720 wall in a store and see 95% the same library they already have on their current console why would they feel the need to drop $500 on a console with the same games

The "core" market will upgrade for better graphics and features but the core are a very small minority of the marketshare

The average consumer doesnt come in an buy a brand new console on its release date.  The majority of early buyers are going to be those who are very core, natural early adaptors and scalpers hoping to cash in on resell (on a worldwide basis).  Both the new xbox and new playstation will be supplied constrained, even at whatever price they launch at (especially if its under $500).  Better versions of previous gen games is more icing on the cake that will work in their favor (something that fell flat on the Wii U's launch)

Early adopters / scalpers only make a difference generally in the first 3 months of sales

I cant help but think there going to be some on this forum utterly shocked at sales come 6 months in
