That's what I was thinking, but I always hear people saying the ps3 is still selling at a loss. Well, they were mostly non-sony fans, so I probably shouldn't have taken their comments seriously. So their gaming division is pulling in money but their TV's and other stuff are what's making them lose everything they gain? |
what annoys me is when people say the ps3 cost billions for sony, while it did infact lose a lot of money when it launched and in the first couple of years, people tend to ignore everything after that, the ps3 was sold at profit around when the install base was about 30 million. they ignore how much money the PS3 brought back in from hardware sales, software, blueray, and PSN. while we will never know if it evened out the huge loses it made at the begininng it certainly made a lot back and will continue to do so.
their gaming devision is profitable and has been for quite a while, its not just their TV division thats losing money its also the mobile one, though that division is growing nicely and will probably be profitable soon.
