Buts its not mandatory to be connected to play games on the wii. I've always had fairly solid internet connection but every now and again it goes down or my xbox has problems connecting. That would render my xbox720 useless..

For me its not a deal killer... But it does make the ps4 a far more appealing option. If both both ps4/720 had the feature I would still end up buying one of the systems.

As I said, IF the Nextbox needs to be online to play games it would be a deal-killer. But at the moment that's a more or less unlikely rumor. That is my OP pointing at, that the most people talk about could be in the end a feature similar to what the Wii does.

But many of the rumours are specific to it being mandatory to play online. IGN just reported that your game will shut down after 3mins of disconnectivity. From all the info thats been floating about there is no reason to assume they are merely talking having the option to be connected 24/7. I think mayb even my ps3 does that, it switches itself on at night and starts downloading patches etc. Obviously mandatory connection is something that microsoft could change in the blink of an eye, so based on the accuracy of the sp4 rumours, I would assume that this  is the truth as of now, but it could easily be a different story when they actually reveal the system.
