Buts its not mandatory to be connected to play games on the wii. I've always had fairly solid internet connection but every now and again it goes down or my xbox has problems connecting. That would render my xbox720 useless..
For me its not a deal killer... But it does make the ps4 a far more appealing option. If both both ps4/720 had the feature I would still end up buying one of the systems.
