the game didn't "nearly" kill them, but the series does belong on the PS3, the sales reflect that

You mean Nintendo. The top game in sales (and in quality up to these days) is Tales of Symphonia, which is exclusive to the Gamecube.

They make Tales games for the Japanese market, and that market wants Tales games on Sony consoles as evidenced by sales. ToS did very well in the West but the series as a whole doesn't have the pull that ToS did over here.

Well, but we should not take sales as evidence, then! Because Vesperia for 360 sold much more than Vesperia for Ps3, despite being done for a Sony console! And Vesperia lagged 110k units sold against Tales of Graces F, which is a Ps3 exclusive. If you mix 360 and Ps3 sales for Vesperia you've got yourself the top Tales of game regarding sales.
I'm cool for them doing it for Ps3 because of fans, but don't bring up sales. Sales show that there's market for this games in another console, another country.

Vesperia came out a year later in japan than the 360 version and it was ONLY released there.
Tales Of Graces F= Tales Of Graces(Wii) with extra content. Tales Of Graces F also released a year later than the Wii version
