a) Nintendo consoles dont sell because Nintendo games steal third party game momentum
b)-> Nintendo decides to ignore first party titles 3DS doesnt sell at all
c) -> Nintendo tries a hybrid thing and just releases the simple NSMBU game and lets the third party handle the rest WiiU doesnt sell.
I dont really see what else he can do.
The main problem is third parties come up with crap software or bad ports etc. And alot of Nintendo players dont care about those. They got burned 100000x and now third party needs to regain the trust of the userbase but third party is to lazy. They dont understand that you need short term loss to gain long term profit. They became lazy and used to easy money (DLC etc...)
I dont like mainstream games at all I always buy exclusives and niche titles no matter what system. If I play Batman or GTA its on my PC and not on a console just look at the GTA4 or Skyrim modding community! awesome!
Tbh I am happy with Nintendo because I dont mind if "crap" like Fifa or COD or any other mainstream title for that matter comes to the system because I am not buying those anyways not for PS3 360 Vita 3DS or WiiU.
I buy games like "3d dot game heroes" and "Rune Factory" and "Little Kings Story" or exclusives like "Okami" "Yakuza" "Alan Wake (before it came to PC...)" etc. and as said before when a game comes to the PC aswell I always get that version because it simply IS superior in terms of lasting appeal and possibilities.
I never ever bought DLC in my life because I dont want a gaming industry that makes mainstream games and adds DLC. I will never ever play multiplayer games with publisher/dev hosted servers DEDICATED is the way to go! etc.
I am a "nostalgic?" gamer I hate quick time events and stuff like in Bayonetta that destroys the immersion just to tell you "YOU GOT GRAD F/ Bronce Medal whatever. BECAUSE YOU DARED TO LOOK AT OUR WONDERFUL SCENERY NEXT TIME RUSH THROUGH THE GAME DAMMIT!!!!!" I hate all this crap.
