The Gamecube was also a powerhouse with less flaws than the N64. |
The gamecube, except for its strange design, was one heck of a console. It was fast, had great graphics, and a near perfect controller. Certainly my favorite from its gen. But it didn't sell... So they came up with the Wii... -__-
Will all the money they made with the Wii, they could have gone the extra mile and make the Wii U an actual powerhouse. But nope...
The consolation will be that with this console, we'll finally get to play Nintendo's great franchises (3D Mario, Zelda and Metroid, in my case) in HD for the very first time ever (I mean actual new games with HD assets from the get-go, so PC emulation is out =P). Even if the console can barely output visuals better than the HD Twins, it will still be the console for which the best versions of these games can be played on. And it will be interesting to see what they use the gamepad for with those games.
