What is corruption in the game? I keep thinking Minecraft, and applied to this game, I would assume you would be safe by building a moat. What I found about Minecraft is that one runs out of things to find. Terraria got my interest assuming that you could find or do more. |
No, Corruption is unique to Terraria. It changes blocks to "Corruption" within a certain distance and enough of them changes the Biome to Corruption. Corruption in "Normal Mode" does not spread, but when "Hard Mode" is activated, it puts a stripe through your map and it spreads overtime until it takes over the map... You can stop it with certain blocks because they are not corruptable and certain things like even "corruption vines" can contaminate and reach your area, that's why you have to be very careful how you construct your base (but you won't learn that until you hit Hard Mode though)...

The total opposite is "The Hallow" which is like killer unicorns and stuff like that. But it plays pretty music and the stone is colored pearly pretty sparkly colors.

I think Hallow spreads too, but I can't be sure. There's tons of wikis and discussions on this stuff.
