I sort of just realize something, Mario games always had great gameplay from Nintendo EAD like Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Mario 3D Land etc. but besides that, I always found them a bit souless sometimes. Out of all the Nintendo EAD games, the only one I find the most memorable were Galaxy 1 and Sunshine. The world in Sunshine was so fun to explore and see the personalties of Peach, Bowser and the others characters is what make the game stands out. Galaxy one, now what make that game stands out for me was the introduction of Rosalina. I found her backstory pretty interesting and the ship beauitifully design. Lately though, most of Nintendo games haven't felt ....memorable lately. 3DLand felt like a weird cash in, the NSMB series felt like unnessary cash in especially 2 and U. I personally felt developers like Next level Games and Intelligent System did a better job using Nintendo IP then Nintendo themselves, which is how we got titles like the Paper Mario Series, Mario & Luigi, Mario Skriker etc. I understand why Nintendo EAD make the games we have today ,but I feel that tactics won't last ong showing from the sales of NSMBU.
Which is why I never seen Mario as a character, I seen him more as an object, because nothing of him stands out, just the gameplay which isn't bad but I feel there some Nintendo EAD can do to evolve the franchise. I'm not saying a re-boot or anything, just something new like Sunshine with the water blaster and fun storyline. Maybe give Bowser his own game, teaming up with Peach or Mario. Try something interesting. That's why I also look forward to that new Yoshi game for the Wii U as well. I came across a video that does a good job explaining what I'm talking about. If you can, please give it a watch before you post.
