If I recall correctly, Wii U has 1 GB of RAM designated exclusively to the OS? Finishing just a bit behind a 7-yo console with 512 MB RAM total is really a feat. They should be targeting Vita speed, not competing with irritatingly slow XMB.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
