Well no, we're talking about if people will get a console because of blu ray. Heck no.
If prices go down, people will buy stand alone blu ray players, any other producer than Sony will not go with high prices for long, because they won't want to sell less than the PS3 in terms of blu ray players. And the PS3 is still damn expensive to tell the truth. Either way it'll go, the PS3 will not see boosts in sales. It it were to happen, people would have started buying ps3's like crazy after it turned out that blu ray is outselling hd dvd some 26:86, as it was pretty obvious that the format was gaining ground fast.
