Why would they want to end the Zelda franchise?
Even after 25 (almost 27 now) years, every game is still of top quality and it is one of gaming's most beloved series. It also wouldn't be in the best interest of Nintendo to fully 'ditch' established and succesful IP's and try their luck at new unproven ones. They're perfectly able to provide us with new experiences while continuing on with existing ones.
Sales of Skyward Sword (which are highly likely to be undertracked here) were predictable and performed exactly like it should according to the series history if you'd look at the circumstances; second game on the console, requires extra accessoiry, non-traditional game.
