Yeah anyone who suggests games won't have an effect on sales is crazy. It's a matter of how much that effect will be and that really depends on the game. They are two games with moderate appeal compared to how appealing future Zelda, Metroid, Mario 3d, Mario Kart type of games in the future. Once Christmas buying season rolls around and Nintendo can do some nice bundles with the white Wiiu perhaps with New Super Mario Bros plus have several key titles on the market things will pick up a lot for the system. The launch of system from Sony and Microsoft will have zero impact. Last gen system from those two will have more of an effect than the new systems will have for some time.
