You just completely tried to avoid arguing with all this text. If you are calling someone envious of this game it is because you identified things in this game to make those people envious. You can't call on someone as being envious and then pretend you don't know why they are envious.

Envious of what? What makes them envious? Why should they be envious?

No, go back and read it again. I'm not saying anything about what people are envious about. I am pointing out typical responses that most likely is grounded in some sort of envy. Doesn't have to be related to this game at all, it's more likely grounded in some sort of wish for the Wii U to be no more powerful, or just barely more powerful than PS3 or Xbox 360. That type of wishes is the very definition of envy.

Obviously, there's no way for me to know what this envy is based on. Most of the people I am grouping with this type of argument aren't conciouis of their envy themselves. Why would I invest any time or effort into trying to find out? As for why they should be envious, I don't think they should be. I don't think envy in general is something toy strive for, at least not malicious envy as we see on display in this thread and all over VGChartz all the time.

Of course you are not saying why the are envious. That is why I ask you to step forward and say why you call them like that. You call them envious and then refuse to say why they are envious.

So by conclusion, since I can arbitrarily call anyone envious without identifying any reason to regard them as such, I will call you right now, right here, as being envious. You are being envious.

It would be a great benefit to this exchange if you would understand what we are talking about. I have explained twice what indicates their envy, and also twice that the exact reason why they are envious is probaly not consciously known to themselves. I am startign to think that you don't know what envy means, or that you are stuck in some thought pattern where you can't say someone is envious without pointing out the exact pixel location in a screenshot that someone is wishing wasn't there.

What I am doing is pointing out that the type of arguments you see many people resort to very often are based in envy, not trying to guess what people are envious about. It is likely something different for most of them, but given the nature of this website I wouldn't be surprised if some feel that the Wii outselling whatever console they prefer was uncomfortable/embarrasing/incomprehendible/irritating and that they wish for the Wii U to not repeat that cycle. That said, I don't care what it is, and I don't think anyone will admit or even recognize their envy, so it's really not very interesting to go into.
