i am not sure what you trying to say with that. but i agree that it is good business for doctors to treat patients weather they need treatment or not. but to elaborate what i wanted to say is that i feel like there are more and more people feel to be "entiteled" to have some kind of mental disease so they can go on and feel sorry for themselves. but i am not trying to say the diseases don't exist at all. |
The thing is, you can't just blame those people....everyone does it in some form or another.
It's like cigarettes. People say don't smoke it's bad for you. While that's true, EVERYONE self-medicates, whether it be food, prescription drugs, addictions like videogames/sex/gambling.
The point is, sure, there are a lot of people who blame foibles on mental illness, and use it as a crutch, but everyone does it; Whether they use a crutch such as a broken bone, some shadowy aggressor out to get them, bad bosses, some dude who pushed them in the bus that morning. Everyone makes excuses for their missteps. It's just easy to isolate this excuse because, while us normal people can say "yeah, a bad boss encounter can ruin your day", it's hard for us to imagine thinking completely differently. That is why so many ads about autism and aspergers and mental illness focus on explaining how it feels, like "it feels like being awake for 48 hours and then taking a math test you haven't studied for", or social anxiety disorder feels like being on camera in times square during new years, when you're really just in a library.
