Ummm... didn't the Wii U launch with a Mario title? And not just any Mario title, but a 2D installment?
So if Mario is a hardware selling God, and the Wii U received the latest 2D installment in the best selling franchise of all time, then why have the Wii U's sales been in the toilet since pretty much the end of the holidays last year?

2D mario isn't a system seller. Put it like this. Nobody buys a wii u for NSMB but When you have a Wii U you buy NSMB (meaning its a game everybody adds to their library when they get a wii u)

O'RLY???
Tell that to the NES, SNES, GB, GBA, DS, and the Wii from 2009 and on (it replaced Wii Sports as the default pack-in Wii game) then.
And I love how you say nobody buys a Wii U for NSMB, but then go on to say everybody who has a Wii U buys NSMB.

a 3D mario is more the system seller, also you mention 2d mario games in the 90s (except NSMB of course). Anyway if you think about it for a sec, wat i was referring to was that some people wont spend $300+ and $60 to play NSMBU! Butttttt People that have a WiiU will get NSMBU to add to their library. Get me?

Sales say otherwise... http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=&publisher=1167&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200
Look how far down that list you have to go till you get to the first 3D Mario title, SM64.
And I said DS and Wii, both of which had a 2D NSMB title on them which helped them sell extremely well. DS didn't take off in popularity and sales until NSMB hit in '06, and NSMB singlehandedly kept the Wii selling from 2009 on after the novelty of Wii Sports had worn off.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
