Well, not really if they looked at the hardware and said that its not really viable to the port a engine over from scratch.. then thats that. And like they said, they COULD even port Battlefield to Vita, but they would have to scale back the game back so much that it would hardly recognisable to the same game that you saw in the trailer. Seems like they just want to push the technological barrier and didn't want to stretch themselves thin.

Currently you can't.  We don't even know if that's going to work.  Sony didn't specifically say that.  Video game sites are twisting their words and posting this information as fact when no one knows right now.  Just like Sony never said the Vita will play all PS3 games through remote play, though many video games news sites were posting it like they did with no quote, or if they did post a quote, it wasn't anything close to what they assumed.

If the Vita can play all PS4 games through remote play that'd be pretty awesome, but I won't believe it until I see it.
