I only read the Op's 1st post and the last two above this one. I have not bought a Nintendo product since the NES. I don't have any hate for Nintendo and deep inside I literally wish them well. Their Mario/Zelda/Metroid/Smashbrothers were never enough to make me get the console, but they do have a nice library of JRPGs and if they focus on it more than Sony on the 8th generation, I may pick it up & play some of the ones I missed on the 7th.
I wouldn't count Nintendo out of the equation. There are plenty of variables in play & it is much too early to count a console out of the equation when the other two competitors have yet to be released.
So it's of to a slow start, so was the PS3 & 3DS.
