PS3 got bioshock in 2008. A year after the X360 version was released.

well then thats probably the reason for the big difference in the numbers between the two versions. most bioshock fans are on the 360 from the first game and the game is more associated with the 360 than the ps3

Your source is flawed for the very simple reason that a lot of games are counted for the 360 but not for the PS3. Not just that - map packs and DLC are also counted as separate games. If we go through each year, one by one, it's very evident that the PS3 has way more games. If we just look at 2013, PS3 owners have had way more choice in GoW:A, Sly 4, NNK.

It is not even a point of discussion, the Xbox 360 has more games. Period.
