Fair enough. From my experience, when people say prick they often mean it in a sarcastic or humorous way "dude, don't be such a prick!" I've never heard the word used in a genuinely derrogatory way, probably because the word itself.. doesn't have the sound of something mean. The pronunciation of the word doesn't sound threatening or dark. It's more of a way to tell someone they're being a pain or the "rain on the parade". So that's how i was interpreting his original post
I guess it's quite different elsewhere.
