You might like this. It's only $5. I told myself I would get used to the new Start Menu, but I still rarely ever use any W8 apps after owning the OS for about five months now.

Also, Microsoft did something weird with IE on W8. There is a Start Menu version and a Desktop version. The former is designed with the minimalist, touchscreen approach like the rest of W8 apps, and is probably the one you're using. I also find it to be quite cumbersome and dubiously gimped. The latter works just like IE on Windows 7.

I have to ask though: why use IE to begin with? It's a great browser for downloading a better browser, like Firefox or Chrome.

W8 seems like it would be awesome for a tablet or smartphone, where the browser isn't the be-all, end-all program, so it makes sense to have a ton of different apps for different purposes. On laptops and desktops, there are always better, more complete programs available either to download to the desktop, or to add to a browser, or to use in a browser through java or HTML.

Edit: Realized someone recommended Start8 to you while I was typing my post.

I am actually looking to grab Start8.

As for the IE question. At my job all the PCs have IE8, so I use that most of the time. My laptop broke years ago (Infant daughter back then = lost keys and broken monitor), so I never got around to getting a new one until now. Before that I used Chrome. I guess you could say I was using it at first on W8 because of the familiarity.

I have gone back to Chrome though.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
