Funnily enough I have only been a Nintendo fan since 2006. Gaming had started to become a little stale before the Wii was released and gave us the option of something different. Previously I'd bought a Game Gear over a GameBoy, a PS1 over an N64, a PS2 over a GameCube and a PSP over a DS. The Wii was the first Nintendo console I've ever owned.
On the strength of the enjoyment I had with the Wii I've since bought a 3DS and a Wii U and haven't regretted my purchases for a second.
I'll probably get a PS4 at some point but I'll wait for it to be cut down to a sensible price and the inevitable Slim SKU.
