Do you think the masses would care if MS just emulated Sony by giving out "free" games? Also, flat out copying the competition hasn't really given Sony a negative image to its fans...

the worst and flat out obvious rip-off was the move, Playstation allstars only rubbed some nintendo fans the wrong way 

 

No, everyone saw PS All Stars as a pretty blatant rip off. Even Phil Spencer of MS called it a Smash Bros clone.
