Retro RPG fans, if Shining Force worth getting into?

I'll answer you point by point.

Compare Panzer Dragoon Saga to Panzer Dragoon Orta for Xbox (which I have).

Orta is a rail shoot. A very good rail shooter, but just an actiong ame with amazing art design and mythos. Panzer Dragoon Saga is a RPG with the best battle system in the "turn based" genre. It's a big epic RPG with so much to see and everything you experience will be unlike anything you've experiences from any other RPG.

Also, of all the Saturn games, is PD Saga the only good game.

No. The Saturn is overflowing with underrated classics that most people missed out on. Not all of them are exclusive, but the exclusive ones are worth owning a Saturn for.

I'm not a big fan of Blazing heroes, but others do like it. I wouldn't call it a must own. Dragon Force not my kind of game, but anyone can see it's briliant. All the Panzer Dragoon games are amazing rail shooters so if you liked Orta than you'll probably love Zwei and you should enjoy the original. Panzer Dragoon Saga is the only one that goes beyond the standard rail shooter though, but it's also the best for a lot of other reasons. Shinning Force is a great series of games and Shinning Force 3 is my favorite of them.

It's my favorite so I would. But that's just my opinion. There are lots of great RPG that deserve just as much respect as Panzer Dragoon Saga. Panzer Dragoon Saga doesn't follow any of the cliches in RPG gameplay so for me it was a big breath of fresh air and ever since I look at the combat of most standard JRPG as outdated. I've never known anyone to lot like Panzer Dragoon Saga after playing it.

I played the original Panzer Dragoon, it reminded me a lot of Starfox, and yes I liked it and Orta. I don't like it enough to justify buying a system for it, but I often hear Saga is significantly better then the rest mainly since it's actually an RPG.

I'll look into that list of Saturn Games, but I can immediatly tell that I don't like a lot of them, or I can play similar games on other consoles (House of the Dead/Daytona). However because of you, I'm inspired to took for copy's of the original 3 Panzer Dragoon games, and a Saturn console. I have a Sega CD, with only 1 game right now (Sonic CD), but still, it's kinda nice.

However this is likely not going to happen until I get a full time career and have money. Like you said there are only 30,000 copies of Saga in North America, I doubt I'll find one at a garage sale or ghetto used game store. This will be an expensive investment, but I think if I get all the games I mentioned in a previous post, including the Saturn and a couple of it's unique titles, then I can consider myself a true hardcore gamer, and then I can say I have a complete collection of every game I like.

Not sure if I'll get a Virtual Boy....LOL. I do own Virtual Boy Wario Land (thought it was a GB game as a kid) and Mario's Tennis, but other then that, that system didn't offer anything, and I probably wouldn't play Wario Land if I had the system.

Last Question: Out of all of Saturns Gems, which would you consider must have games?

Don't mention a game unless you honestly think it's worth an 8/10 or higher.

P.S. I was just reading Wikipedia about some of these games. Panzer Dragoon 1 is included in Orta entirely.
