Because Wii U will get top software support from Nintendo, which Vita won't get from Sony (aside from Sony Japan, who does seem to give a damn about the handheld, the other top dog Sony studios really don't seem to.)

Again, are you kidding?  Vita has ANOTHER assasin's creed coming out for it, LBP: Vita is often described as the definitive LBP game, Soul Sacrifice launched and moved tons of units, Killzone: Mercenary comes out this fall, and the game launched with a full Uncharted.  In fact sales have picked up a lot in japan and though they won't be this high forever, there is a lot of evidence that the console is going to stay well above where it was a month ago.  The Vita isn't the savior of handheld gaming that I was hoping it would be, but it has proven that it will survive.

On the other hand the Wii U launched with a lack luster 2D mario and a bad-average reviewed zombie game.  Besides bayonetta 2 and a couple of Nintendo games (That have zero gameplay shown), what games does the Wii U have?

NSMBU is called the best entry in the NSMB series and Nintendo Land is a decent effort.

Bayonetta 2 and a couple of Nintendo games is not only what Wii U have for the future.

Recently released: MH3U and Lego City.
