Yeah, seriously, people are disgusting me. Making personal attacks on a reviewer is immature, rude, and makes any actual points you have to make diminished.

Now, that being said, she didn't say (at least not that I can remember) that the game was challenging. She said that the challenge spiked inconsistently (super easy to hard in a matter of minutes and back down) and that lack of check points can be frustrating. FRUSTRATING, not challenging. I know I hate replaying the same easy parts of something over and over and over again for no reason other than "designers didn't put a check point there."

Extreme case: Let's say there were plenty of really, really easy levels in a platformer. Beating the first, let's say 3 levels took like 5-10 minutes. The next level was difficult (not impossible). Let's say there were no check points at all in this game. Anytime you died in the hard part, you'd have to replay 10 minutes worth, every...single....time. Now, if there were loot to grab or something in those levels that "carries over" then that could be ok, but if you honestly just had to replay those things just to replay them to get to a hard part, that is just bad game design.

Having not played the game, I don't know what I would give it, but I think the review is fine conceptually.
