About £500m all in? So about half the size of the Spanish market... I'm amazed its so small after Ethomaz telling me it was so huge. Should be growing well though, which is good news for all concerned. (especially xbox from what I hear)

Yep. The thing is.. Brazilian tax laws are complicated (sometimes even irrational) and our government, unfortunately, is still too narrow-minded to give the videogame market the incentives it deserves. This is a big country with a lot of demand, but due to those problems videogames are a way more expensive here: A 32Gb WiiU costs about U$ 700 in Brazil, double the price of Europe/USA. In a country where the average yearly income is only U$ 11.000, its not an acessible entertainment media for most brazilians.
We still hope for a better future, though... we´re always hoping. And we´re loyal customers.

Wow, thats expensive. Arent the 360 and PS3 competitve price wise now though?
Anyhow, good to hear. More markets is good.

You judge:
PS3 160gb:R$1.190,00 (roughly Us$595,00)
Xbox 360 4gb: R$899,00 (roughly Us$449,50)

ouch

And those are the cheaper versions. An Xbox 360 Kinect bundle cost around R$ 1299 ( U$ 649,50). A PS3 250 gb bundled with PES 2013 cost R$ 150 (U$ 75) more. As there are a lot of imported consoles, those prices can vary 30 % between different stores
