no, you should only play games you would play without trophies but at least for me i really like to have achievements like "kill the boss only with a knife", "beat a time of 1:45 on this or that track" or whatever. many achievements are challenges and they add something to the game.
but there are people who only buy or rent games to get more trophies/achievements, no clue why they do it.
