So these first week sales for God of War: Ascension only count its first 5 days in the USA and only the first 2 days in the UK, does anyone else see the problem here?
Why doesn't Vgchartz wait for new games to be out for a full week before posting sales data? Full week sales would be something like this; USA: 500,000 & UK: 50,000. We know it sold around 25,000 in Japan week one too, so far that's 575,000 first week before we even see how it did in the rest of Europe.
God of War: Ascension's first FULL week worldwide should be around 700,000 units. It should reach 1 million next week/ 2.0-2.5 million this year/ 4.0-4.5 million lifetime (4.75-5.25 million if heavily bundled). Amazing sales for a prequel in a dead genre in which nothing else comes close.
Also God of War is HUGELY popular in Brazil/Latin America and it's very popular in India and quite popular in Russia, all of which are emerging markets that obviously aren't tracked. This is probably why the series was/is so massively under-tracked. Just look at God of War III's sales numbers, it's actually sold around 6 million units including every SKU.
Anyway God of War: Ascension and the God of War Saga are going to see an enormous boost in the USA next week thanks to GameStops new deal where if you buy God of War: Ascension you get the God of War Saga Collection free. It's already at the #1 & #2 spots in GameStops bestsellers list, I'm not talking about just for PS3 either, they are at the top 2 spots including EVERYTHING, even outselling Gears of War: Judgment which is at #3 overall.
