Microtransactions - what is the big deal?

Micro-transactions don't bug me as much as they seem to bug other people, I just refuse to use them as in games like forza and mass effect I can get the stuff by playing the game, which is why I bought the game in the first place: to play it. So generally I ignore the whole process.
