I'm 18, but I know Nintendo gamers who are as young as 8 and as old as 43.

It's for all ages, people who say otherwise are either too "scared" to be seen playing a fun and colourful game, have their own agenda, or are just uninterested in the company so say what the adverts portray to them.

and i have an 8 year old nephew that is a ps3 gamer and 48 year old work collegue that is a ps360 gamer.

..doesn't mean that from a demographics perspective the ps360 pulls in equally all ages instead of having target markets.

nintendo has a family entertainment persona (disney-esque) that pulls in a lot of adults (parents) and younger children (mostly due to parents buying a product that they feel is more age approriate).  ps360 does better in the teen to young adult demographic due to the persona's they worked hard to build.

you can't sit in one thread and say that ps360 games don't appeal to you (too brown/violent/whatever) but nintendo games do and then turn around in the next thread and claim that ps360 games don't appeal to a different audience (else they are "scared").  nintendo is a very different company from MSony and that is exacly why they have different demographics.
