There honestly isn't much Nintendo can do. There is no doubt that Nintendo has the resources and money, but they have never made games for HD consoles before and it takes a lot longer to make such games. Nintendo's studios are probably busting their balls to get these games out but it's going to take a lot longer to develop than Wii and 3DS games. Plus they are probably also updating their engines for development on the Wii U platform.
This is the reason why you need good 3rd party support because they can give them gamers stuff to play while your 1st party can take its time to make quality software and push the hardware to its limit. Unfortunately Nintendo doesn't have that support.
